Since it's founding in 1965, RTK Architects has been dedicated to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of building environments through the innovative use of space, materials and technology. The firm, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, provides a full spectrum of architectural design services from new buildings, facilities planning to full building renovations and interior design services, as well as master planning, space planning, expert witness (forensic) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) analysis and surveys.

The four founding principals (Mitchell Robinson, AIA; Thomas Takahashi, EAIA, Frank Pimentel, AIA and Herb Katz, AIA) in 1965, established Robinson/Takahashi/Pimentel/Katz & Associates to address the design needs within the medical, industrial and retail arena. Today, Sami El Bayar, AIA and Mandana Motahari, AIA , along with Herb Katz are bringing a new focus and direction to the firm and guiding it into the 21st century, while still maintaining ties to the original client base. Our designs have evolved and formed to the visions of the new leadership while incorporating the history, experience and knowledge built and developed over 35 years.

Our client list includes Kaiser Permanente, CIGNA Healthplans of California, Nestle USA (formerly Carnation Company), Beatrice Hunt-Wesson and Kal Kan Foods, Inc. While those original core clientele have remained solid and consistent, RTK, within the last 10 years has developed and focused its design experience and expertise into the commercial, retail and governmental sector.

As the technologies and complexities of business and building environments has evolved, RTK Architects has advanced as well, by incorporating the latest design technologies and systems - we are better able to assist our clients in designing environments that meet the needs of today, while being flexible enough to adapt to the needs of tomorrow.
